Clunes is the site of the first gold rush in Victoria. Some of the original diggings can still be seen around the town. See Travel Victoria for photos of these, in a gallery of photos of the whole town, as well as for more information about Clunes. Clunes also has a Bottle Museum, a collection of 6,000 rare and unusual bottles which the public can view.

Clunes Golf Club features an 18 hole sand green course set among a variety of native gum trees, with panoramic views to Mt Beckworth (some 8 km away). Native birds and other wildlife are plentiful, including some endangered species. Clunes Golf Course is open all year round. The course is undulating to flat, and is dry in summer. Visitors are welcome and green fees are under $10.00.

18 Holes, par 70, ACR 66, 5324 metres.
Competitions run all year, but the days and times can change with the season.
