Apollo Bay is between Lorne and Cape Ottway, on the Great Ocean Road. It has a large boat harbour and marina as well as swimming and surf beaches. Rolling hills overlook the bay, with panoramic views from Marriners Lookout. The Bass Strait Shell Museum and the Old Cable Station Museum are in Apollo Bay. The Great Ocean Sports Festival takes place here in February, and the Apollo Bay Music Festival is held here in early April.

The Apollo Bay Golf Course is in between the Apollo Bay Marina and the sea itself, and has beautiful coastal views. A fairly short 9 hole course with 18 tee areas, 7 bunkers and rather slow smallish greens, it can present a real challenge depending on the winds. 9 holes, Par 64, 4222 metres
